A report by the Civitas: Institute for the Study of Civil Society, an independent Westminster think tank has revealed that the BBC went to great lengths over the 2005-2015 period to supress criticism of the European Union.
The BBC failed utterly to maintain it’s policy a-political, neutral commentary and give equal time to both sides of the Brexit debate, even long before a referendum on the UK’s EU membership was announced.
The study by Civitas, which is titled The Brussels Broadcasting Corporation? Revealed that even after the Brexit referendum the BBC still continued to push a Pro-EU narrative.
For every pro-Brexit speaker featured on BBC tv and radio programs there were roughly 9 anti-Brexit voices highlighted in the 6 months following the Brexit referendum.
This skewed and biased coverage played into the agenda of certain politicial figures in the UK and EU who were pushing for democratic decision of British people to be overturned and Brexit reversed.
