The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has claimed that Ireland has achieved what we need to to ensure a politically bulletproof Brexit deal.
According to RTE News, Varadkar said that the agreement between the EU and Britain for the retention of a free-flowing border between Ireland and the UK post-Brexit is “rock solid and cast iron”.
In other words – there will be no hard border.
“We have protected what we sought to protect and we achieved what we sought to achieve,” Varadkar said.
It now appears that all sides are happy to move forward to phase two of Brexit.
