A statement released in North Korea’s official newspaper today said that the country is ‘ready to sink the US carrier with a single strike.’
Bellicose and inflammatory rethoric is nothing new in North Korea, as the reclusive country is currently engaged in sabre-rattling with the US.
President Trump recently authorized the deployment of a naval strike group, led by the carrier Carl Vinson (CVN-70), to the region.
Two Japanese warships have now joined the US naval assembly to take part in joint maneuvers.
