He may well be one of the biggest singers in the world, he may well be one of the most liked singers among Irish fans, but it’s gone beyond a joke now – the onus is back on him, EITHER PLAY OR JUST GO AWAY!
We’ve had it all this week: “They’re on, They’re off” – the residents, Aiken, the Taoiseach, Dublin City Council – even Obama had to get one of his aids to say they wouldn’t be officially commenting on it.
I understand the frustration on all sides, I do, but it’s gone on enough. There’s major issues this country is facing – some ludicrous cabinet reshuffling to name one. This is an entertainment-based problem, either Dublin City Council and residents are going to let him play the 5 in a row, or Garth can play 2 matinee shows and one final gig (which originally he said he’d do).
whatever happens, if it goes ahead, it’ll either be incredibly awesome for the fans because they get to see him in reality, or the good will be taken out of it for them. A much ado about nothing – either come over and play, or just stay where you are, Garth, and give the people their hard earned money back!
