Oscar Pistorious has had his request granted and will now move to a prison that can better accommodate disabled offenders.
The Department of Correctional Services confirmed that the former Paralympic champion was transferred from Kgosi Mampuru II prison in Pretoria to the closeby Atteridgeville Correctional Centre.
The centre have recently installed bath tubs during upgrades for disabled criminals.
Pistorius is currently serving a six-year prison sentence for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in 2013.
Prosecutors have appealed against the sentence, staring it is too lenient.
