There was widespread criticism on social media recently after a leading sports presenter once again called an Irish sports star British during a recent interview.
The latest round of national claim if you will came this week when Sky Sports News presenter Jim Whyte called Ireland’s very own rising female boxer Katie Taylor a British fighter.
Whyte who is most commonly known for his transfer deadline day coverage has seemingly come in for a barrage of criticism on social media after he asked the Bray native does she that she could become the next fighter to join the list of British champions
Needless to say the long standing presenter’s question did not go down well with many sports fanatics this side of the Irish Sea with many calling for Whyte to do some research before his interviews.
