It has emerged today that an elderly patient from Co. Clare who was rushed to University Hospital Limerick last week, was left over 24 hours on a trolley before being given a bed.
The shocking revelation follows a similar incident in Tallaght Hospital last week, where another 101-year-old woman was left languishing on a trolley for nearly 26 hours.
A review is currently underway at Tallaght. A spokesperson for the INMO in the MidWest has said that another review is long overdue at the Limerick hospital facility also.
