The British Government have passed legislation that will now make the sick act of upskirting a criminal offence.
In a move that has been lobbied for two years, those who are found guilty of committing the offence will face up to two years behind bars.
The Bill which was passed through the house of Lords will officially become a criminal offence within in the next couple of months after representatives overwhelmingly voted in favour of passing the legislation.
It is understood the act will be made part of the Sexual Offences Act of 2003.
The latest move will be welcomed by victims and women’s groups who say the act has become more and more common in recent years.
