Pilot strike will still go ahead unless Ryanair engages with union before Wednesday

The pilot strike at Ryanair is still set to go ahead as scheduled, unless representatives from the airline meet with union members before Wednesday.

Ryanair backed down from its original stance of not recognizing unions, in an attempt to avert a very damaging strike just before Christmas. But then the airline said that it would not be able to meet IMPACT members until at least Wednesday, the very day that the strike is scheduled for.

Pilots`maintain that a day of industrial action will be held, unless the airline is prepared to meet and negotiate before then.
