Police in Santa Monica arrest man armed with weapons and explosive-making chemicals intended for an attack on Los Angeles Gay Pride Parade

According to reports early this morning police in the U.S. have arrested a man in Santa Monica after they received a tip off claiming he was heavily armed with weapons and explosive-making chemicals, which were allegedly going to be used at the Los Angeles Gay pride parade.

Reports say the man James Howell aged 20 was arrested by police on Sunday morning when they received a tip off about his plans. It is believed when he was arrested Howell told police that he was headed to a Los Angeles-area to ‘harm’ the gay pride parade.

Police say Howell was arrested on Sunday morning in Santa Monica, California, with three assault rifles and chemicals that can be used to make explosives.

They also say Howell, was detained with a car full of weapons, ammunition and powder for explosives, however it is believed Howell  had no apparent connection to the carnage in Orlando.
