Pilots at 55 out of 86 bases have now refused the offer, throwing the airline into further disarray.
In response to the refusal, airline boss Michael O’Leary said that he was prepared to ‘unilaterally cancel pilot’s leave’ to keep aircraft in the air. The statement is said to have alienated most of the airline’s pilots, who are also fighting for better working conditions.
The raft of flight cancellations is said to have cost the airline in the region of €25m so far.
