A Status Yellow weather warning will kick in at 8pm this evening, as Met Eireann warns of thundery downpours and strong winds expected overnight.
Spells of heavy rain will develop towards evening, followed by thundery rain along the west and southwest of the country.
Strong winds, with gusts of up to 110km/h are likely across Atlantic and eastern shores.
The warning will remain in place until 6am on Tuesday.
