RTÉ weather reporter turned internet sensation Teresa Mannion has been the talking point of almost everyone since her report on Storm Desmond last weekend.

Mannion was captured delivering her report in treacherous conditions in a performance that was almost Oscar worthy. But it appears the Mannion has caught the attention of people all around the globe, with Buzzfeed UK, CNN and others covering her viral report. CNN have also expressed an interest in taking her onboard as part of their team and have called her for an interview.

The presenter has been in her own “bubble” since the report took off.

“I’m in my own little storm bubble, it’s just not dying down like Storm Desmond, it just seems to be getting bigger and bigger.”

“I just heard that CNN are looking for me.

“I’m so new to all of this, I mean I’ve never had a great Twitter moment,” she said.

The viral report has given Mannion 3000 followers in just 24 hours and has kept her phone “buzzing, buzzing, buzzing”, since her rise to internet fame. The report, while comedy gold for viewers, was a serious thing for Mannion to get through in the face of Storm Desmond.

“If you were in my shoes, you had the gust bellowing off the Atlantic ocean,” she admitted.

“And you have your earpiece in, that I’m hanging on to dear life – up full volume and you’re desperately trying to hear the studio and you can barely hear Aengus Mac Grianna’s voice.

“But you just keep going and your body is swaying.”
