Stuart Olding claims to have consumed 22 drinks before woman’s alleged rape encounter occurred

The rugby players Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding are facing another week of scrutiny into that now infamous night in the summer of 2016.

Olding is said to have told police during an interview that he consumed some 22 drinks before the woman’s alleged rape occurred.

According to RTE News, he told police that he drank eight cans of Carlsberg, four pints of Guinness, two gin and tonics, five vodka lemonades, three shots and a beer from the fridge in Jackson’s house.

Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding completely deny raping a 19-yr-old woman against her will and insist that she could have left the bedroom at any time.

It’s understood that Jackson told police that he thought the whole thing was consensual. He is said to have told police that he went upstairs and was followed by the woman who was allegedly staring at him all night.

Jackson said after going down and then coming back upstairs, they eventually started kissing which led to a sex act which he claims was fully consensual.

According to the BBC, Jackson told police about the woman that she could have left at anytime.

Allegedly Stuart Olding then entered the bedroom and also started what he said was a consensual kissing and sex act.

It’s understood that the trial has around two weeks of evidence and deliberation left with four men in total being accused of crimes.

The Ireland and Ulster rugby players have pleaded not guilty to raping the 19-yr-old woman.
