The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has said he has no regrets after he called the current US President-elect Donald Trump a “racist and dangerous”.
Mr Kenny who labelled the Republican party leader candidate last summer said he does not regret what he said, but believes US- Irish would not be damaged by his comments.
Mr Kenny said: “I don’t. I made my comment in the Dáil on comments that had been made by the then candidate.”
“I’ve since spoken to the President-Elect and we’ve agreed Ireland will continue to work with the in-coming administration in the interests of Ireland and the United States.”
