Awful news emerged from Co. Louth this morning.
Three women who arrived home at Dublin airport from a holiday were killed when they were involved in a 3-car pileup at Aclint bridge on the Monaghan Rd in Co. Louth at 1am.
The women, a mother and daughter and their friend aged 69, 39 and 37, all died instantly when the vehicle they were driving was involved in the crash with two other vehicles.
Two men were rushed to hospital with serious injuries, one of whom is said to have been in the same car as the women who died.
A third driver escaped without injury.
