Gardai in Dundalk claim that the 18-yr-old Egyptian migrant who randomly attacked and killed a 24-yr-old Japanese man in Dundalk this morning was carrying two knives.
It appears to be a planned attack as the migrant is said to have stabbed a second man during the carnage this morning, thankfully his second and third victim’s injuries are said to be non life threatening.
The migrant was seen wielding a garden post further down the town near the Coes Rd where a garda called for back up. He was arrested some 5 minutes later when he tried to attack the gardai with the post upon confrontation.
He is currently being held in Dundalk garda station and is being questioned there until 9:30am tomorrow morning where gardai may extend the arrest period.
