Thank you for keeping us safe: Emergency services praised by the public for their heroics following Metro Hotel blaze

Emergency personnel have been praised for their efforts by many on social media this morning following the events at the Metro Hotel last night.

In a number of messages and posts from across Dublin and the entire country, people have expressed their relief and gratitude to those who successfully managed to evacuate the hotel without any major causlities.

Although details regarding the cause of the fire that spread across five floors is still emerging, the grateful public have flocked to social media to thank the brave men and women who risked their lives to help others on Wednesday evening.

In messages of support posted on both Facebook and Twitter, the general public have thanked those responsible for averting a potentially devastating incident.

The brave firefighters of Dublin Fire Brigade have recieved most of the praise this morning as their brave efforts helped to make sure everyone escaped the blaze unharmed.

In a flurry of messages those who put themselves in the face of adversity were thanked by a public who are well aware of the challenges these men and women face when it comes to rescuing others.

The messages of support have come after 8 fire engines, 3 aerial appliances ladders,2 command units, 4 special units, 60 firefighters, ambulances, paramedics, along with the assistance of Dublin Airport fire service were sent to tackle the blaze that ripped through five storeys of the high rise building.

The brave efforts of all those involved helped to save over 150 lives and therefore their actions can only be described as heroic and we the public should be ever grateful to a our dedicated emergency service personnel.
