The British Prime Minister Theresa May is set for a though day ahead of her scheduled visit to Dublin to meet the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar as reports in the UK have indicated that she will face a motion of no confidence.
In what could be a dramatic and defining twist in Mrs May’s future as leader of the Conservative Party could be under threat as the party have seemingly submitted enough letters to trigger a vote of no confidence.
According to BBC News, a total of 48 letters have been submitted to trigger a ballot on the confidence of Mrs May’s leadership.
It is believed that the British PM will now speak to the chairman of the Conservative 1922 committee, Graham Brady, on Wednesday afternoon.
The news comes ahead of a visit to Dublin were Mrs May will hope to get reassurances from the Taoiseach over the Irish border and the backstop agreement.
Mrs May however could have little time as the British parliament could trigger a vote on Mrs May’s leadership as soon as tomorrow night.
