Gardaí in Co Roscommon have sadly confirmed that a man aged in his 70s has died after he was struck by a car this evening.
It is understood the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene after he was hit by a car on Bridge Street in Strokestown at approximately 8pm this evening.
Gardaí say a woman who was driving the vehicle was uninjured in the collision.
