Police in the Netherlands have sadly confirmed that four children have been killed after a train struck a cargo bike at a level crossing.
The tragic incident which also left others critically injured, occurred in the town of Oss which is located approximately 62 miles southeast of Amsterdam.
It is understood the specialised bike which is commonly used to transport children was hit by the train after it ended up on the level crossing.
Police investigating the incident say a woman who was ferrying the children to school was critically injured in the collision which occurred on the school run.
It is not yet known what caused the tragic incident but police say an investigation is underway.
