Police in Northern Ireland have sadly confirmed that a football fan has tragically died after he fell from a promenade in Nice.
The man named locally as Darren Rodgers 25, from Ballymena, Co Antrim, reportedly fell eight metres over a barrier from a promenade onto a hard pebble beach in the south coast city of Nice at approximately 2am this morning.
Local police say he was on his own at the time. Meanwhile a PSNI spokesman said: “We are aware that a man from Northern Ireland aged in his 20s has died in Nice, France, this morning.”
