The UK Home Secretary, Amber Rudd, has said that she would like to introduce mandatory life sentences for those offenders using corrosive substances as weapons.
The announcement comes in the wake of a series of acid attacks across London on Thursday night, for which a 16-year-old has now been charged.
The British Government will also introduce regulations to better control the sales of potentially dangerous substances.
