It has emerged that the horrific scenes at the emergency department at Naas general hospital were caused by an oxygen tank disaster.
One person has been confirmed dead and two paramedics injured, one released from hospital, and another seriously injured. The deceased was a male patient.
It’s believed an oxygen tank exploded at the back of the ambulance and killed he patient immediately. Details are still coming through very slowly with mixed reports locally.
The emergency department remains closed at the hospital.
