Last month Vester Lee Flanagan II aka Bryce Williams shot dead WDBJ7 reporter Alison Parker (24) and photographer Adam Ward (27) on live TV. Flanagan also wounded Vicki Gardner, the executive director of the Smith Mountain Lake Chamber of Commerce, who was being interviewed at the time.

Gardner underwent surgery to remove one of her kidneys and part of her colon. Ms Gardner was discharged from Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital on Monday.

Williams who fatally shot himself in a police pursuit, claimed the shooting was retaliation for Alison Parker and Adam Ward reporting him to human resources. He also claims Alison had made racist comments. ā€œHe was a difficult person for a lot of people to work with,ā€ WDBJ7 general manager Jeffrey Marks said.

In an interview with ABC News, he said a surgeon told him “a couple of centimetres and she wouldn’t be walking, and a couple of centimetres more and she wouldn’t be alive”
