Around 300 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer in Ireland each year and this week is Cervical Cancer Awareness.
Irish women of all ages are being encouraging to get checked for the fatal illness and get treated as soon as possible as it is possible to recover if treated in a timely fashion.
All women, but in particular those aged between 25 and 60 should arrange to have their free smear test after they receive their Cervical Check letters.
