A 12-year-old has tragically died after going for a swim in a river.
The incident happened at the River Irwell in Bury, Greater Manchester, on Thursday evening.
Emergency services were quickly at the scene and the body was located soon after, but paramedics could only certify the girl’s death. No foul play is suspected.
