New statistics just released show a marked increase of HIV cases across Ireland so far in 2019.
A total of 239 new HIV cases have been reported over the first six months of this year.
Overall, the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases is also increasing rapidly, with 4,193 confirmed cases of chlamydia, 1,341 of gonorrhoea, and 793 of herpes.
