12-yr-old boy killed on e-scooter after crash with bus outside McDonald’s

A 12-year-old boy killed in a bus crash while riding his electric scooter in the UK.

He was near a McDonald’s in Bordesley Green, Birmingham, when the accident occurred just before 8am Tuesday.

The West Midlands Ambulance Service dispatched two ambulances and two paramedics to the scene.

They found the boy with life-threatening injuries and in “critical condition.”

He died instantly. None of the buses required treatment, the service added.

Police said the collision this morning resulted in a ‘awful tragedy’.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, from West Midlands Police’s Major Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This is an awful tragedy for the young boy’s family and friends, and our thoughts are with them at this time. We’ve spoken to a number of witnesses, but still want to hear from any of the passengers on the bus who we’ve not yet spoken to, or from people who may have captured what happened on dashcam. If people do have footage, we’d ask them not to share it on social media but to send it to us so that we can help establish exactly what happened,” reports Metro.
