14-day quarantine rule blamed for the job losses at Aer Lingus, as 500 people are to lose their jobs in the near future

The Government’s 14-day quarantine rule has been blamed for precipitating the 500 job cuts at Aer Lingus.

The company says that imposing a quarantine for inbound travellers into Ireland has exacerbated the already precarious travel situation.

The job cuts will affect in-flight services, ground operations, maintenance, engineering, and head office personnel.
