Gardai say that they have arrested a man as part of their ongoing investigation into the disappearance of a Lithuanian woman more than three years ago.

According to RTE, the man is currently being held for questioning at a midlands garda station.

The missing woman, 29-year-old Giedre Raguckaite arrived in Ireland in March 2018.  She was living in Dundalk at the time of her disappearance.  She was last seen alive in a house at the Beach Grove estate in Laytown in Co Meath on 29th May 2018.

It is said that she left her accommodation on 24th May and there were two further sightings of her in Dundalk by 29th May.

A number of people have been interviewed as part of the investigation and a murder case has begun but there is no information as to how Ms. Raguckaite died or the location of her body.
