
A “tragic accident” claimed the life of a 17-yr-old student who got into trouble in the water while on a school vacation, according to his college principal, reports Sky.
The child was visiting the seaside resort of West Wittering, close to Chichester, West Sussex, as part of a party from Uxbridge College in west London, to commemorate the end of the semester.

Tuesday at about 1pm, someone called emergency services for the wellbeing of the adolescent.
According to Sussex Police, he was evacuated to the hospital and declared deceased. His family has been notified, reports Sky.
Uxbridge College principal Dylan McTaggart said: “This was a tragic accident that has had a huge impact on everyone here. Our priority now is to look after all those affected. We have enlisted the help of qualified counsellors and will make sure that over the next days and weeks we have staff and professional support available to our community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and we ask that you respect their privacy as they grieve the loss of a child,”
