A 17-yr-old boy has been found guilty of killing a 15-yr-old girl by stabbing her to death in the street after following her online, reports Breaking News.

In January 2023, Holly Newton was attacked by a kid she knew in an alleyway in Hexham, Northumberland, resulting in 36 injuries.

In addition, the 16-year-old murderer, who is unidentified due to his age, stabbed a youngster before bystanders interfered and stopped him.

The kid worried Holly’s mother, Micala Trussler, so much that morning that she called the police. It was decided Holly shouldn’t leave school if the young person was outside, jurors at Newcastle Crown Court were informed, reports Breaking News.

The mentally ill defendant acknowledged manslaughter but denied murder, saying he had only planned to terminate his own life that day and that his mind had gone blank.

After the group had left school for the day, the prosecution said he had followed Holly for around forty-five minutes through the town centre as she went shopping with friends.

Just hours before he stabbed her, Holly had informed a friend that the young man was “basically stalking her,” the jury was told, reports Breaking News.

When he noticed her outside a pizza place, the teenager approached her and begged to talk. He then led her into an alleyway and assaulted her with a knife he was carrying.

The adolescent kid who had been with Holly that day and attempted to intervene to save her was also very nearly killed by the defendant.

Tuesday marked the beginning of the jury’s deliberations, and Mr. Justice Hilliard commended the panel for their meticulous consideration, reports Breaking News.

The adolescent will get a sentencing from him on October 31 and November 1.

The defendant did not show any outward reaction when the foreman found him guilty of the counts of murder and wounding with intent as he was seeing the proceedings through a videolink from a secure unit.

In a novel move, the court asked Ms. Trussler to honour Holly before the jury left, giving them a clearer understanding of the type of person she was, reports Breaking News.
