Greta Thunberg told young protesters that COP26 politicians “pretending to take our future seriously” when they participated in a demonstration in Glasgow.
The 18-yr-old Swedish climate activist attended a rally at Glasgow Festival Park as world leaders gathered at the neighboring SEC to discuss actions to fight climate change.
The meeting Thunberg attended was one of dozens that took place across the Scottish city.
She told other activists that change will not come from the politicians at the top, but from the people who show leadership.
Speaking to other activists, the public and the media at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, Greta said the Glasgow conference was like “previous COPs”.
She went on to say that the world leaders were talking to the same old “blah, blah, blah” about climate change without taking any form of action.
Meanwhile, Micheal Martin has announced that Ireland will be paying a very hefty €225 million per year to “play its part” against climate change.
