A 26-yr-old mother died after being bitten by a shark in Mexico, reports Sky.
A woman living nearby was swimming with her five-year-old daughter at the time of the attack.
Authorities said the attack took place on Saturday in the coastal city of Melaka in the western Mexican state of Jalisco, reports Sky.
Rafael Araiza, head of the local civil defence office, said the woman and her daughter were swimming toward a floating play platform about 25 meters offshore when the attack occurred.
In response, authorities closed Melak and the more famous beach town of Barra de Navidad to swimmers, reports Sky.
