A 30-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his girlfriend in their Dublin home last year.
Gavin Murphy assaulted and stabbed Jennifer Poole at her home on Melville Drive in Finglas on April 17 2021.
24-yr-old mother of two Jennifer was stabbed seven times and later pronounced dead at hospital.
Murphy, of Coulter Drive in Ballymun, admitted to the crime and pleaded guilty to murder.
According to RTE, he has a history of violence against women and was previously sentenced to two years in prison for stabbing a former partner and her mother in 2015.
Judge Paul Byrnes said it was another case of violent assault by an intimate partner against a young woman and sentenced Murphy to life in prison.
