33% of Irish people have no money left after paying their rent, warns homeless charity

A Cork homeless charity has given a stark warning that one third of people have nothing left after paying their rent.

The warning comes as the numbers of people who are at risk of losing their own home or rental home has risen dramatically to over 30%.

It’s understood that the Cork Simon charity has warned that very high rent prices are leading to one-third of people with no money left after paying for their accommodation.

They warned the government to do something before out-of-control national homeless crisis gets even worse.
