4.2 magnitude quake hits parts of the UK

Tremors were felt in parts of Kent earlier this morning.

Kent police were inundated with calls from concerned residents, but there have been no reports of injuries or major damage to buildings or any other structures.

Quakes of this magnitude hit the UK approximately every two years, and occur about 4,500 times annually, according to the British Geological Service.
