Following Russian President Vladimir Putin’s announcement of a partial mobilisation, the country’s Defence Minister Sergei Shoygu said announced that almost 6,000 Russians troops had been killed in the special military operation in Ukraine.

The Minister went on to claim that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) losses amounted to about 100,000 killed.

The numbers have been dismissed as Russian propaganda with Ukrainian propaganda claiming 50,000 Russians killed.

Propaganda emanating from Kiev has been reported unquestioningly by Western media outlets and political figures since the outbreak of hostilities and despite innumerable embarrassing falsities being exposed this trend continues.

With referenda being held on joining the Russian Federation in eastern Ukrainian regions with Russian majorities this weekend it looks like the war is about to ratchet up to a level unforeseen by all involved.
