An eight-year-old boy has tragically died after a man pushed him and his mother onto the path of a high-speed train.
The shocking incident happened at Frankfurt’s main station in Germany earlier today.
It is understood that the mother managed to survive by squeezing into a gap between the tracks, but the boy was run over and killed instantly.
The perpetrator, believed to be a man from Eritrea in Africa, attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.
It remains unclear whether the attacker was known to the victims.
