A Co Galway parish has said that it has seen record numbers attending its drive-thru Ash Wednesday service.
According to St. Patrick’s Church in Glenamaddy, the service which has grown in popularity in recent years, saw record numbers as a number of parisheners arrived at the church.
It is understood the church allows anyone with a vehicle to collect Ash from either the local priest or a volunteer once they arrive.
However despite its popularity the church say those wishing to avail of theore traditional service, can do so at 7pm this evening.
