The Government have revealed that they plan to have all dogs within the country microchipped within a year.

It has been announced that it will now come compulsory to  microchip puppies beginning  from September, and it will compulsory to all dogs by March of next year.

Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney welcomed the news saying the scheme will make it easier to reunite stray dogs with their owners, and also help to clamp down on illegal trafficking.
