The search for missing Anne Shortall has ended this evening with the discovery of a woman’s body near a home in the Killoughter area of Wicklow.
Ms Shorthall was last seen at around 4pm in Wicklow town on Good Friday.
A 38 year old man was arrested in Co Wicklow this afternoon in connection with this incident, and is currently detained at Wicklow Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 – Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Gardai are expected to launch a full murder enquiry after the discovery of the remains.
