A Dutch drive-in COVID testing centre was attacked and burnt down in a fishing village named Urk, as the first night of a National curfew was imposed in the Netherlands. The curfew runs from 9pm to 4.30am and curfew breakers receive a €95 fine.
Youths have been blamed for the unrest which also saw the destruction of police cars and attacks on police personnel. The mayor of Urk had to invoke emergency powers and call in the riot police. Riots are continuing into a second night with The Time of India reporting a “Civil War” in the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, Denmark’s citizens are lashing out at COVID restrictions too. During a protest March in Copenhagen a group calling itself “Men in Black Denmark” burned an effigy of Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen with the sign “she must be put down” hanging around her neck reports The DailyMail.
Anti-lockdown, pro-democracy riots and protests are continuing in Denmark, the Netherlands and other Locations in Europe with The Time of India reporting a “Civil War” in the Netherlands.
