The Director of the National Virus Reference Laboratory Dr Cillian de Gascun has said that Government Ministers should be vaccinated against Covid-19 now as they are key workers.
Speaking to RTE’s Today with Claire Byrne programme, de Gascun said that Government Ministers should be given the same priority status as frontline workers and the elderly.
He went on to say that Government Ministers needed to be vaccinated as they are the decision makers and they are running the country.
de Gascun’s comments come after he was asked whether or not he thought that the Taoiseach Micheal Martin should be vaccinated ahead of his potential St Patrick’s Day trip to Washington D.C.
