All names and contact details to be taken for over 18s, Photo ID for some under 18s – part of indoor hospitality draft proposals




Draft proposals surrounding the reopening of indoor have been finalised and are expected to be implemented by Sunday ahead of the reopening of the hospitality sector.

Under the new proposals customers wishing to avail of indoor dining services must provide proof that they are fully vaccinated or have recovered from Covid-19.

According to RTE News, the new EU Digital Covid-19 certificate will act as proof that a person has been fully vaccinated or recovered from the virus.

However in a late hour decision set out by health experts, everyone entering a premises except under 18s will be require to give their name and contact details which will be recorded by staff working at the premises.

It is understood that a record of names and contact details must be held for up to 28 days in order comply with GDPR.

The new regulations will also require everyone over the age 18 to show photo ID along with their vaccine certificate whilst entering the premises.

Meanwhile those under the age of 18 will not be required to provide proof of immunity, but some may be required to provide photo ID in order to prove that they are not over 18.

The new guidelines will also see a maximum of six people aged 13 and over to a table which must be kept at least one metre apart from another table.

However this rule will not apply to children under the age of 12.

Amongst the other regulations, establishments will be only able to provide table service, whilst all premises must be closed by 11:30pm.

Customers will also be required to wear face coverings at all times except when seated at a table, whilst those wishing to enter an outdoor area must inform a member of staff.

It is expected that the new proposals will be approved by Sunday ahead of the reopening of the hospitality sector on Monday.
