Commenting on uptake of vaccines, Head of vaccine Taskforce claims Irish are a ‘more educated population’ they ‘trusted science and public health advice’ and ‘media, public service media ensured there was good quality information’

The chairperson of Irelands Vaccine Taskforce, Professor Brian MacCraith commented this week on the high uptake of covid-19 vaccines by the Irish community.

“I think it’s an educated population, I think people trusted the science, they trusted the public health advice. I think the media, public service media ensured there was good quality information out there”, reports the Irish Times.

The professor called Ireland’s Covid-19 vaccine uptake “remarkable,” and claimed Ireland was second (in vaccine uptake) only to Malta in the EU.
