Martin: I’m sure people will be patient if we can’t lift restrictions on Friday

The vast majority of people around the country have had enough and want all draconian measures to be lifted once and for all.

Whether that will happen this coming Friday is anyone’s guess, but likely will be a no go. However, the Taoiseach claims that people will have patience if NPHET doesn’t allow the government to remove more restrictions on October 22nd.

Micheal Martin has said that he thinks people will remain patient if the planned further reopening of society doesn’t go ahead on October 22nd.

Speaking about the possibility of the further easing of restrictions, Martin said he wouldn’t pre-empt what decisions will be made but instead wait on the advice of public health experts.

The Taoiseach said that he knows people will remain patient if things don’t go to plan as they have already been exceptional ever since the restrictions have been first put place.

He added that he thinks people now fully understand the pandemic and they know there will be twists and turns ahead in relation to the virus.
