For Sale: fury in the UK as Covid tests are stockpiled by people who put them up for sale

A woman in the UK has been banned from an online community group page after letting everyone know that she had been stockpiling Covid tests and was willing to sell them.

According to the Metro, the woman spoke about the tests and boasted of having “large quantities” of kits available.  Other users on the group were furious that she was selling them, particularly as pharmacies in the area had been running seriously low on stock.

The UK Government has had to come out and reassure the public that there are enough tests to go around but there is still a huge amount of concern, especially this week as schools and businesses reopen after the Christmas break and Prime Minister Boris Johnson has urged people to take a test before meeting up with others.

There is a lot of public anger at the idea that anyone would stockpile tests like this and start selling them online.  There have even been calls for online sales sites to refuse to list the tests so that they can’t be bought by anyone.

Despite the chaos and high demand for tests, the Government in the UK is trying to reassure the public and is urging them to go to the government website where they will always be able to get hold of a testing kit.
