Gardai have confirmed that a man died after getting into trouble off Spiddal, Galway.
The event happened shortly before 1:30pm on Thursday afternoon, December 29, 2022.
The Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene, but after their search, including by the Coast Guard, the man’s body was recovered from the water.
The man, aged in his thirties, got into difficulty while swimming in the water. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. A case is being prepared for the coroner.
